Hey friends! Just a quick note to let you know all is well in MamaMick land. I have so many fun and exciting things to share with you, but “day job” planes, trains and automobiles have kept me all tied up. I appreciate your visits here and on my photography site. In fact, it feels like… Continue reading Music while you wait (Vol. 2)
Remember yesterday’s instruction to Be Brave? Here’s a little more to get the juices flowing as you head into another challenging week of work/parenting/caregiving/being-all-you-can-be. Christy, a talented blogger and newly found friend, reminded me that “brave” is her word for 2014. Her kind comments (and enduring bravery) reminded me of a fantastic song by Sara Bareilles.… Continue reading Be Brave (Part 2)
“Run like a dog” was the morning’s mantra pasted on Facebook. Flippin’ -30 outside and my dog (Cleve) would still want to run. For miles. He’s the one who usually gets me outside even in the craziest of conditions. We ran yesterday at 24 degrees, but today’s 20 mph north wind and 9 degree air temp are… Continue reading Run like a dog!
Happy New Year, friends! A girl like me can hardly resist the urge to list, categorize and hoard New Year’s resolutions like a crazy squirrel. In fact, my mom confided that I was born with a label maker and a journal instead of a silver spoon. In typical January 1 fashion, I sat down this morning with magazines, Pinterest, photo… Continue reading My fantastically skewed and warped approach to 2014
Hi! I’m Macy Grey and I run this joint. My poor mama is under the weather. When I heard her coughing up a lung and moaning last rites, I knew it was time to step in. But, as soon as I volunteered to write her post, my tummy went rumbly and it won’t quit growling. It’s either nerves… Continue reading Wag More Bark Less
Denver-KC…what a debacle! We are never, EVER getting back together. Time to move on….. In case you want to see the history of this sordid affair: Why I will Never EVER Love the KC Chiefs again Should I take them back?
Life will never be perfect, no matter how hard you try. Even if you pour your heart and soul into it, you will never have that perfection you seek. There will always be broken hearts, there will always be days where nothing goes right. But you must accept and learn that even the most imperfect things will always be made better with love and laughter.
Sharing one of my very favorite songs from artist Kacey Musgraves–a country cutie who ain’t afraid to get after it.
Remember how I promised Friday Favorites up next? Um yeah.
It’s going to take a little longer than a few days to do any justice to your favorite things. Let me be honest; the day job has taken over this week, I’m going to the P!nk concert tonight and the Soldier post from yesterday completely drained me emotionally. Nothing better than a blogger with baggage, right?
Talk amongst yourselves about your daawgs and your daawghters and give me till next week?
And the next time you see me put the gauntlet of a deadline out there, remember…
I’m just blowin’ smoke….
Dear Mom, Your pumpkin patch is invading my home. Should I be worried? Love, Cleve
