February stands for FREE!

Wanna have a pre-Valentine’s Day party? The kind that doesn’t require high heels or two years salary? The type of party where you get to leave your wallet at home? A free-for-all? If you answered yes, read on!

Before I was a writer, I was a reader.

As a reader, have you ever thought about the work happening behind the scenes? How a system, a process, a person can get the words from the author’s imagination to the synapses firing in your brain? What does the marketing look like? Have you noticed how many beautiful covers and poignant words fill the shelves at Barnes and Noble or in your local library? The competition is stiff, my friends!

Do you know any authors or writers personally?

If not, here is the first of many chances I’ll be offering on this site. Today I’m highlighting two of my personal friends and their books. You’ve seen them before in this space, and I’m coming back to let you know that they are generously offering their books for free.

First up: The fabulous and talented, Charissa Stastny.Char

She is offering Eyes of Light free via Amazon starting today, February 11-February 15. What a sweet treat!

See my original interview with her here: Interview with Char

Our second lovely author is Beth Teliho. *Throws glitter and does cartwheels!

Beth - Writer B is Me

She is offering her award-winning book, Order of Seven, for free February 9-11 and Feb 26-27.

See the original interview and Book reveal with Beth.

Does this short blurb leave you wanting more? Stay tuned for a special post later in March where I bring together our favorites and we talk publishing best practices. It’s not only the publishing giants putting this industry on the rails – it’s our talented and gracious independent and small publishers, too. If you can’t wait to learn more, be sure to check them out at their author sites.

  1. “Before I was a writer I was a reader”….
You know what I like best about that sentence?
The claiming of the fact that you are a writer…no doubt, this is who I am, statement of fact.
I’m not sure I’ve heard such a clear declaration from you before.
Um-hum…yeah, we all have known for a long time.
    Get to that editing!

    1. It’s so amazing you would pick out that sentence…it’s the only one I looked at and considered changing . Then, I finally thought “I’m a writer dammit!”
Thank you for picking up on that. You’re the best. Xo

    1. Robyn! You know how I love seeing your smiling face here.
As I told my friends, promotion is the easy part – they did all of the hard work.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read and comment. I know Beth and Char appreciate it, too! xo
