Freestyle Friday

Shavasana, Baby!

Shavasana, Baby!

Just breathe, Baby!

Grab her hand
Hang on to his
Let it happen

C’mon! Take a chance, Baby.

Buzz, you busy bee
Dip, dive, sip and roll
Feel the sun on your face

Be thankful, Baby!

Be where you are
Walk in their shoes
Seek to understand

Feel the empathy, Honey.

Knock down your walls
Be that person who will
Say it! You know you want to…

Be brave, Baby!

Be present
Keep calm
Stay still

Shavasana, Baby….

Before you accuse me of being off my rocker, let me explain myself. This post was inspired during yoga class this morning. My gorgeous, fearless yoga instructor first made my day by telling me she reads my blog (thank you!) and then asked how she could read other blogs. I started telling her about Mished Up and then realized, there are soooo many great writers in this space. Why not get everyone together for a little party?

Click on the hot links above to find some of my favorites. This only scratches the surface of who I read on a regular basis, so I’d like to make this “a thing” for future posts and include others. I am inspired by my reader and writer friends and family every day–thank you for blessing my life and reading my ramblings. xo

    1. I tried to channel my “inner Marissa” with a half-hearted attempt at poetry. I knew I’d failed when my husband asked, “What is this? Is it lyrics? I don’t get it….”
      Oh well πŸ™‚
Psst: I hope you don’t mind if you are yourself in one of these future posts. The hardest part will be picking my fav πŸ™‚

      1. Oh I know. That is one of the reasons I don’t choose to do the awards blogs…who would I choose? Who would feel left out??

Anyway, I could hardly imagine any attempt at poetry from you being half hearted, much less a failure. Beautifully done!

  1. I’ve mentioned several times lately about living in “wonderment.” You, Michelle, definitely get it β€” and live it through your creativity and genuine heart. Thanks for sharing the wonderment πŸ˜‰

      1. You are totally a writer. I love your merge of photos and words. And, even if we become “done” for a bit, what you’ve written and what you’ve photographed will always be a part of you. I’m happy you share it with us.

      2. I write in self defense, especially on WordPress which is writer centric. My pictures have been my career for likely longer than you’ve been alive. They are just coming to a halt on a forum that isn’t built for them.

      3. I hear you on the photo platform. Even I have problems in my amateur space.
I hope you land in a good space, and once you do, I hope you’ll let me know where you land πŸ™‚

      4. There are no good spaces for photography in blogging form. I’ll likely just add pictures to my commercial site. Maybe, I’ll post on Storyteller now and again because it’s become a bad habit. Or, one day when you’re flying around you’ll see an advertising piece that feels familiar, or when you buy a CD of some music you like… πŸ™‚

    1. Lol!! Hello handsome πŸ™‚
You’ve accomplished what you set out to do…I’m wang chunging right now.
What have you been up to, my friend? I miss reading about your adventures and seeing the Hawaiian shirts πŸ˜‰

  2. OH! Your yoga teacher reads your blog? That’s awesome πŸ˜€ And thank you so, so much for linking me. I was going to skive off a bit, but now I’m going to try to write something really beautiful to thank you for linking me, seeing as how you like to read mine, and all. I’ve been on the search for a picture tho and just haven’t found one…I’ll have to figure one out πŸ˜€

      1. I’m gonna do a whole post of beautiful for you – just need to make a start πŸ™‚

I’m finally doing better just today! It’s such a relief. I managed to spend the afternoon walking with minimal pain AND without the usual dose of pain meds, so I’m really happy, ALSO it means I can head to London tomorrow with my friend and spend the day wandering and the evening clubbing. But it may also mean I can’t justify taking Monday off ‘sick’ lol πŸ˜‰

      2. Oh yay! You DO sound better. Your day tomorrow sounds exactly like what you need.
I look forward to a “whole post of beautiful”…your posts are naturally that way ❀️❀️

      3. Yup πŸ™‚ All for you. Disguised as a TToT, but really it’s me reading to you. Or writing to you. I’m not sure which at this stage… any rate, telling you the story of my week, and the good things within it.

  3. Thank you, sweetness, for the shout out. I make a list every week of posts that really hit home for me and always plan to do just this. Only I wouldn’t be able to do it so creatively! I’d simply shout ‘HEY! GO READ THIS STUFF! IT’S AWESOME!’

    Love this and love you.

    1. I love your shout out idea!
I was over at your blog this morning (stalking!) and I think I have been missing a lot. I need to check my subscription, cuz you know how I love to read you. I’ve missed interacting and can’t wait to be back on a more regular basis. Love to you and yours, Sandy! ❀️❀️

  4. whoa!
    thanks Michelle!
I have been off the grid completely for the last 4 days (what an experience…maybe a post, and all so good) and am just seeing this at the end of the day August 9.
Which is my birthday….and i re-read my own post and rambling about age, etc….very meant to be, me reading that today.
love you sweetie…and love the way you did this!
    Very sweet and creative.
I’ll try and stay link worthy!

  5. Could feel the beat with this one, Michelle. Mathair and I are addicted to your rhapsodic way of writing. We are officially stalking you. lol No if’s and’s or but’s about it. πŸ˜‰ Such a creative and fun way to share your favorite blogs with your readers. Definitely going to be checking them out. Have a great week! πŸ™‚

    1. I am squealing with delight!
      Thank you so much.
This is a silly little piece, and I’m so glad to caught the whimsy.
As for stalking – I’m a huge fan and plan to do some of my own later today. Thank you both for making me smile – HUGE smile.
Have a great week, too! Xo

  6. Fabulousness! And well done for being able to think of anything at all during a yoga class – I’m normally too busy trying not to fart and/or catch sight of angles of myself not suitable for human consumption. Off to nose through those links…

    1. BAHAHAHA! I totally get the whole “I hope I don’t fart’ thing. Imagine if you farted into the mirror??
Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. I’m heading over to check you out, too!
